Well that is a good question and whilst there are a number of superb restaurants in Bristol, it would be fair to say Clifton boosts many of the best bars and restaurant. Many of you may have seen the recent success of local Italian restaurant Prosecco. They were short listed from over 700 Italian restaurants across the UK for the title of Britain’s Best local restaurant. Diego and his team so narrowly lost to another Italian restaurant from Leeds who in our opinion ever so slightly cheated! However, Diego may be the winner in the long run as his flare and integrity came across so well on the Channel Fours F word, they have been positively inundated with booking. So if you would like to give they a try you may want to book well in advance. Still don’t be to disappointed if you cant get a table there are plenty of other great places to eat in BS8. A recent addition to the Clifton Scene is The Spring Garden Tavern. Previously Demi-Lune (a french restaurant) the Tavern is now a down to earth pub. The proprietor has some good plans ahead. But most interestingly is the introduction of live music every friday night. The artists, a mix of soloist and small bands start around 8.30pm and play til late into the night. It seems to be targeting students but there is a nice mix of all ages and when the summer returns they have a very nice beer garden too.

DV Nights a Clifton based entertainments company have just launch their new website. They have already had a series of successful events aimed at student parties, but they are a young dynamic company and are keen to show other companies that they can turn their hand to all kinds of event management. Dasha the founder has extensive experience and has work for some of the top entertainment and events management companies around the word as well as hosted parties and private functions for some of the world’s most exclusive celebrities. There is a new art gallery on Hotwell’s Road, The Lime Tree Gallery. Specialising in Fine Art and Glass, they plan regular exhibitions throughout the year. With a particular love of contemporary Scottish artists. From the traditional to the modern, the figurative to the abstract, each exhibition is complemented by a selection of individual glass pieces, from Britain and the Baltic States. We think its a welcome addition to the street and wish them every success. The View Gallery is also a must, with there abundance of large format contemporary art and sculpture. It’s only a short walk from The Lime Tree Gallery, so pop in both.

PWC of Clifton, Bristol would like to voice a special thank you to Jam Jar Print of Bristol for helping us raise money for Barnardos. Gloucester Road in Bristol’s BS7 postal zone has a new website. gloucester-rd.co.uk and it is a beauty. What has that got to do with just clifton? Well the creators, a company called snap2 have done such a good job that we are teaming up and so justclifton.co.uk is getting an upgrade and a facelift. Not that we think our site really needs the visual enhancement but there are lots of new feature we would like to share with our customers and residents alike. You can check out gloucester

Gloucester Roads new website launches on the 15th of this month and then we get ours! For those of you who dont know just clifton has always been a free service which Craig Brothers produced for free to support some of his clients in Clifton Village. Well many Clifton websites have come and gone but Just Clifton has been around long enough to have some impressive statistics now and we want to take it to the next commercial level.
